Large event for charity who's patron is HRH the Prince of Wales.

Providing security for a large event requires meticulous planning and attention to detail. There are many areas of responsibility that require attention to ensure the smooth running of the event whilst providing strict and dedicated security measures.

This particular project involved:

  • In depth planning and liaison with SO15 and other security services to develop and ensure impenetrable concentric circles of security
  • Venue security surveys and risk/threat assessments were conducted and continuous vetting of all employed venue staff carried out
  • VCP (Vehicle Check Points) were strategically positioned, traffic control was established with the emphasis on fluid throughput of vehicles and a separate area was designated VIP parking
  • A strict entrance policy was enforced to filter guests through registration points where invites were checked against guest lists and invite identifiable marks confirmed
  • Guests, bags and packages were then searched via detection arches, hand held wands and physical hand searches
  • Sterile and non sterile areas were implemented along with areas for media and press VVIP areas were cordoned off and secured
  • Escape routes identified and immediate action drills rehearsed in case of an incident Close surveillance of all individuals was carried out once inside the venue as well as overt and covert patrols

Expert Investigations produced the Operational Order for the whole event which was issued to all relevant members of the 18 man CPG (Close Protection Group)
