Overt Close Protection and Security

An A-list celebrity required Security and Close Protection for her wedding in St Tropez. This project involved liaison with the Principals' office on a day to day basis and coordination of logistics. Reconnaissance, security surveys and risk assessments were completed on all of the venues and the project also required the employment and vetting of specialist chauffeurs and linguists. The duration of the project was 12 weeks including 8 weeks of planning prior to the trip.

Extreme confidence in security of information and the integrity of all persons involved was essential. Liaison with the media and authorities in the French Riviera, Côtes d´Azures was also frequent.

Operational requirements were a 12 man CPG (Close Protection Group) including the logistics and accommodation for the team. Tasks included:

• Incessant crowd control (firm stance however, sympathetic to the individuals)
• Continuous threat and risk assessments
• Contingency planning and deception
• Ability to move the Principals and their guests swiftly either by foot or by vehicle
• Technical Surveillance countermeasures in vehicles, vessels and hotels
• SAP (Security Advanced Party) advanced recognizance to venues prior to the Principals arrival for restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and other venues
• De-escalation of aggression and conflict management
